Beer lovers across Nicaragua have another reason to pop open a cold one this weekend: Victoria is coming out with a new, full-bodied beer called Victoria Selección Maestro.
The new malt beer, the first dark brew in the Victoria family, has a smooth taste and a 5.1 percent alcohol content.
The beer will be released Thursday as a limited edition seasonal brew.
Victoria is the mainstay brew of the Compañía Cervecera de Nicaragua, founded in 1926. In 1996, the Compañía Cervecera de Nicaragua merged with its largest competitor, which brewed Toña, and cornered Nicaragua’s beer market.
Victoria Seleccíon Maestro will be Nicaragua’s darkest beer on the market. It is the third variation of the Victoria beer, following Victoria Light and Victoria Frost, released several years ago.
