Finca market will feature a taste of Mardi Gras

Granada's monthly finca market is this Sunday

Mardi Gras is coming and this month’s finca market will feature some items with a Cajun flair. Food items such as muffalettas (a sandwich made with ham, salami, and provolone cheese topped with an olive and garlic relish), shrimp beignets, and chicken and sausage and shrimp gumbo will be available in limited supplies.

Your local vendors will have a selection of smoked meats, sausages, cheeses, artisan breads, gourmet honey, desserts, and natural products such as herbal supplements, essential oils, and more.

Organic coconut oil will be available for retail or wholesale, in sizes from 2oz to 5 gallons.

La Esperanza will have a table this month offering handmade bracelets created by local children. We will also be joined by local artist Carlos Vargas, who paints on handmade papers and canvases made from banana and corn-husk fibers using natural inks made from coffee. Be sure to stop by to talk with Don Carlos about his unique process!

The once-a-month Granada Finca Market is held on the second Sunday of every month, and will be open from 10 a.m.- noon this Sunday, Feb. 10 at Hotel La Bocona located on Calle La Libertad, two blocks west of the central park.

You rock Melissa! You have inspired me to work on my cooking, and I bought myself a new cookbook! The Cajun stuff was great at February’s Finca market!
