(posted June 24, 11:00 a.m.)- The U.S. Embassy in Managua this morning emitted the following “Emergency Security Message” for U.S. citizens living in Nicaragua:

“The Embassy has been informed that there may be large pro-government demonstrations and marches throughout Managua. All major rotundas around the city are expected to be fully closed by 1:00 PM, and there may be road blocks at other locations. Please keep in mind that even demonstrations intended to be peaceful can turn confrontational and escalate into violence. You should avoid areas of demonstrations, and exercise caution if in the vicinity of any large gatherings, protests, or demonstrations. U.S. Citizens are encouraged to avoid these events. Due to this situation, the Embassy will close at 11:00 AM today and staff have been instructed to remain in their homes. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this causes.”

If I were still there, I would be leading the support for the FSLN. Of Course, as the entire world knows that the U.S. and Nica Friends of Somoza are just now setting plans in motion to destablalize Nicaragua. Look at the facts. A mysterious helicopter crash. Chamorro led protests.
All after the China is building the canal in Nicaragua, oil refineries in Costa Rica, Railroads in Honduras and Guatemala, U.S. oil firms are grabbing up offshore oil sites. The U.S. realized it must act now to protect its interests in the America’s after wasting time in Afghanistan and Iraq. Meahwhile the Chinese, Japanese, and Russians have been setting up infrastructure and mineral developments in the America’s and Africa.

Ortega is doing a fine job of destabilizing his own country, he doesn’t need US assistance for that! In fact, I wish the US would not comment on the Nicaraguan pro-Government demostrations which are eerily similar to the “spontaneous” anti US demonstrations organized in Iran over the years, so as to not allow the commandante the excuse to blame the US for interfering in Nicaragua’s internal affairs which sadly is used as the bogeyman the way McCarthy used communism as his during the red scare of the 50′s.
